First blog, First Grade

It is raining and storming in Virginia Beach so I am homebound and finally starting our new family blog. Today is Trevor's first day of first grade and my emotions match the gray skies. It is hard to think of all that I am missing out on with him. And though I am glad he didn't even look back as we walked away, it made it harder! Savannah and I will have lots of time together, though, and for that I am grateful. My mom used to take a picture in front of the same tree every year on the first day of school, so we are carrying on that tradition (minus the tree). Trev was so excited to ride to school (we all rode bikes there this morning) that he was a little frustrated about the mandatory kodak moment, but knew it would be quicker to simply comply. All weekend he's been saying "first grade, here I come!"

You have such a beautiful family. We miss you guys. Thanks so much for taking time to come see us while you were in Utah. We miss Virginia and loved getting to know you while we were there. Good luck to Trevor on this his big year.
Love the Johnson's

Very nice Brooke! I would have thought you would have done something Chewbacca-ish--just teasing.

You are definitely tempting me with the TX trip . . . if I can get childcare figured out I may join you.

Hooray for the blog!

Trev looks totally adorable in his first day of school outfit. Did you remember that it was my bright idea to take the pic holding a sign so you would actually know which grade the pic was for? Yes, we do get smarter with each generation!

And LOVE the new family pictures. Alisa is a genious!
When do I get some?

Thank you everyone for your comments - I love that nicknames from high school and college are coming out here! And the credit for the pics goes to my amazing sis-in-law, Alisa. And yes, Camille, I will get you some prints soon. Miss you all!
